Let’s take a walk.

Ours is the gentle spiritual practice of walking in nature with a small sacramental dose of Huachuma, a traditional cactus used for generations in prayer and connection. We call it “Hikerodosing”.

Nothing dramatic, nothing forced — just presence, breath, and relationship. Many come simply to slow down, listen inward, and remember they belong to the living world.

It is a simple act, yet the reconnective effects run deep. Over time the practice became something larger than a gathering, and Shine Ministries formed naturally around it.

Walking is Disruptive

Walking is Disruptive

The world keeps accelerating. Our attention fragments, our thoughts repeat, and many people carry a constant background tension they can’t quite name. We adapt by staying busy — but busy rarely brings relief. Walking interrupts the pattern.

The steady rhythm of steps breaks mental looping. The nervous system shifts out of urgency. Instead of pushing through the day, people begin to notice it again — the air, the ground, the presence of others. What felt heavy often loosens without needing to be solved.

Walking together deepens the shift. Conversations become more honest, silence more comfortable, and disconnection begins to dissolve. The experience doesn’t add something new so much as remove interference, allowing a person to remember what calm feels like.

For those who choose, the practice can be gently supported by a traditional sacrament long used to help restore clarity and relationship — Huachuma.

Huachuma is used here in a very small, supportive amount. Not to escape reality, but to participate in it more fully — attentive, grounded, and awake.

At this level the experience is subtle. Most remain conversational and clear. Some feel calmer, others more open, others simply more appreciative of ordinary things.

We approach the sacrament with care and respect. It is not a product or performance enhancer. It is a spiritual aid used within community, nature, and intention.
